 Md. Tauheed Ahmad, MD, MBA, Fellow UICC, founded Students' Movement Against Tobacco and Smoking  (SMATS) in 1998. He has worked extensively on different aspects of youth tobacco prevention. His pioneering work on the use of poetry to counter tobacco influences has been acclaimed at different fora internationally. As a part of his MD research, he has developed a new model of tobacco control for educational institutions in India. He has undergone specialized training in tobacco control advocacy at University of Sydney and The Cancer Council, New South Wales,which was funded by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).

 Khursheed Muzammil, MD, PGCCHFWM, has been involved with different aspects of public health. He has done extensive research in the area of adolescent health including substance use. He has more than 15 papers published in national and international journals of repute.  He has been involved with the activities of SMATS since 2004.

Gupteshwar Singh, MD, MPH, has been associated with the cause of tobacco-control for more than a decade. He has served as Research Co-ordinator for Global Health Professional Student Survey, a project of WHO, CDC and Canadian Public Health Association. He has also supervised other research projects funded by the Government of India, WHO and other  international agencies. He has presented papers at various international conferences and undergone international trainings in this field. He is the Project Director at School of Preventive Oncology, Patna.

 Syed Faisal Hasan has recently completed his MBBS. He has been associated with different social causes in school and during his college years. He has worked on different advocacy themes especially the use of information technology in the field of public health advocacy. He has been associated with the activities of SMATS since 2006.

Vaibhav Jain is currently undergoing his medical internship. He has a deep interest in research and advocacy on issues of public health importance. He has presented his research as well as worked as a volunteer on different issues of public health concern. Recently he has finished a research elective at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
